ATU Local 1576 Bargaining Update

Community Transit Employees

Date: August 6, 2025

Dear ATU Local 1576 Members,

Your ATU 1576 bargaining team met with Community Transit today for our fourth round of contract negotiations.

The counters that Community Transit presented to us today continued to clean up language on Article 12 and 17, Leave; and Grievance and Arbitration, respectively. We also are making progress on incorporating the MOU regarding Vacation Bids for Coach Operators into Article 20 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The discussion on Article 20 was very informative and spirited, and we hope to finalize this Article soon.

Our next negotiating session is on August 27th. At that meeting, we will present responses to CT’s proposals thus far. This back and forth will continue until we arrive at meatier issues. You know what they are.

Our goal is to get the best contract possible for our members and to keep you informed at every turn as we work through the entire process of negotiating the successor agreement.

As we noted in the last update, Community Transit indicated that they’re still finalizing their wage offer and have committed to presenting us with their first pass for a wage proposal counter to ATU before September.

The members of your bargaining unit today were:

  • Dani Julien, President,
  • Lela Perkins, Vice President,
  • Dave Thompson, Financial Secretary/Treasurer,
  • Risë Gamble, Recording Secretary
  • Eric Adams, Executive Board
  • Robert Gaines, Executive Board
  • Maxwell Lall, Executive Board
  • William Love, Executive Board
  • Eric Sullivan, Executive Board

Feel free to reach out to any of us with questions. We will continue to update you as negotiations progress.

In solidarity,

ATU Local 1576
