ATU Local 1576 Bargaining Update

Community Transit Employees

Date: July 30, 2025

Dear ATU Local 1576 Members,

Your ATU 1576 bargaining team met with Community Transit today for our third round of contract negotiations. This session was productive and set the stage for moving into deeper parts of the agreement.

Community Transit indicated that they’re still finalizing their wage offer and have committed to presenting us with their first pass for a wage proposal counter to ATU before September. We know everyone is anxious to see this part of their proposal, but keep in mind that their first pass is not the end of negotiations; it is the beginning.

CT also let us know that they’ll have some counter proposals ready for us (on issues we’ve already addressed) when we meet again on August 6, which will be held at Community Transit. Our next step in the process is to dial in on classification specific articles of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, as well as other still-open articles in the CBA.

Oh, and because you asked, yes, 4/10’s are part of our proposal. You know who you are!

The members of your bargaining unit today were:

  • Dani Julien, President,
  • Lela Perkins, Vice President,
  • Dave Thompson, Financial Secretary/Treasurer,
  • Risë Gamble, Recording Secretary
  • Eric Adams, Executive Board
  • Jaswinder Bains, Executive Board
  • Robert Gaines, Executive Board
  • Maxwell Lall, Executive Board
  • William Love, Executive Board
  • Eric Sullivan, Executive Board

And, we are so lucky to have the assistance of International Vice President Michael Cornelius, who has 30 years experience in these negotiations!

Feel free to reach out to any of us with questions. We will continue to update you as negotiations progress.

In solidarity,

ATU Local 1576
