DOT Medical Certification Deadline is May 31, 2021
Last Chance to submit your DOT Med Cert
The state’s deadline for your DOT Medical Certification is May 31, 2021. This means that the Department of Licensing must have received, reviewed, and electronically approved your DOT Medical Certification by May 31 if your certification expired on or after December 1, 2020.
If you have not submitted your DOT Medical Certification, there is no reason to delay it. If you have an expired/expiring DOT Medical Certification, you need to:
- Obtain your DOT Medical Certification
- Upload the DOT Medical Certification to the Department of Licensing website
- Check to ensure the DOT Medical Certification has been processed by checking your status on www.dol.wa.gov.
- Until your status reflects the updated information, you should carry the letter of extension on your person to provide to law enforcement if asked.
This new practice must be done with every new DOT Medical Certification!
If, on June 1, 2021, you do not have a valid DOT Medical Certification reflected on the DOL Website (check your status page), or if the Department of Licensing has not processed the card you sent to them, your CDL will be downgraded. Meaning, you will not be qualified to operate a commercial vehicle!
