Everett City Council and Community Transit Board of Directors initiate joint study on possible transit system consolidation.
The Everett City Council and Community Transit’s Board of Directors this week voted to conduct a joint study to explore in greater detail what a potential transit system consolidation would entail.

On September 28, Community Transit implemented a vaccine mandate policy with a deadline for all employees to be vaccinated by January 1, 2022 to maximize workplace safety for employees and safe services for our customers in the face of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.

The Snohomish Health District will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on site at Merrill Creek Admin Building on Saturday, October 23. The clinic will be open to Community Transit Employees, First Transit and Transdev contractors, and Sound Transit employees and their family members.

You must have your agency-issued ID-badge to enter the facility and family members must be escorted by the employee/contractor.

We all have been watching the news for several weeks now as millions of Americans face looming deadlines to get COVID-19 vaccines, as employee mandates take effect all across the country.   We were not surprised when Community Transit CEO Ric Ilgenfritz instituted a policy late last month requiring all employees to comply with company-wide vaccination mandate or face separation from employment, if no reasonable accommodation is granted to them.

Effective Sept. 1, 2021, the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration has updated their rules on expiring CDL and DOT Medical Certifications.
Extension information:
1. CDLs that expire on or after March 1, 2020 are extended until Nov. 30, 2021*
2. DOT Medical Certifications that expire on or after June 1, 2021 are extended until Nov. 30, 2021*
