Reminder that ballots must be returned via USPS and received at the Everett PO no later than Tuesday, Dec 20, 2022 at 9am for your vote to count.

There have been a few inquiries into the timeline for mailing the Officer Election ballots, and as the Election Committee Chair, I want to make sure that everyone has accurate information. Our Local’s By-Laws state “The Election Committee, under the direction of the Financial Secretary/Treasurer, shall prepare and mail to each member eligible to vote, a Ballot, which shall be mailed no less than fifteen (15) days prior to the December election meeting”.

CONGRATULATIONS to President Custer, Vice President Julien and the negotiating committee Traynor Hunt, Rob Bozin and Monti Wimmer for a unanimous contract ratification at Island Transit!!

After a video recap of day one and the morning invocation, the delegates heard reports of the Credentials, Appeals, Next Generation, Para Transit and Maintenance Committees. Special guest speaker Teresa Romero, President United Farm Workers brought forth a reality we could never imagine regarding their outrageous and unsafe working conditions and disgraceful pay and no benefits whatsoever.
